the startups embracing on-demand deliveries

Since the likes of Jumia, Konga, and other e-commerce giants started operations in Nigeria around 2013, last-mile deliveries have been a major challenge in Nigeria. This problem has led to the spring usatimes.cc ing up of several delivery startups the bulk of which operate from Lagos, Nigeria.

The “I-Want-It-Now” mindset of so ma news ny Nigerians consumers has made it necessary for logistics companies/startups to step up their game and offer their customers the ability to get th ir deliveries done on demand. The average person that patronizes online usanews.cc retailers in Nigeria usually wants to get his order delivered the day the order was placed or at most, the next day. As a result, on-demand deliveries are the way forward in the e-commerce industry. Bearing the cost technology and manpower wise of on-demand deliveries will be too much for the average online retailer to bear alone and as such, it will only be wise to use a delivery partner that can lift the burden off the shoulders of the retailer.

One of the startups embracing on-demand deliveries in Nigeria is Metro Africa Xpress (MAX).

MAX initially launched its delivery service (MAXNow) in 2015 as a scheduled delivery service where customers could schedule their deliveries and get it delivered anywhere in Lagos within 3 hours.

According to Ized Uanikhehi, Director of PR, Marketing and Growth, “the scheduled delivery service initially offered by MAX (MAX Now) has been transitioned into an on-demand delivery service where deliveries can only be requested on demand. As a result, people will no longer be able to schedule their deliveries via the MAX Now option on the MAX Okada app or MAX web platform.”

There are 3 ways to book a delivery with MAX

1.   Hail a MAX Okada ride from the MAX Okada app or MAX web platform and have the MAX champion deliver for you

2.   Hail a MAX Okada ride from the app or the Web platform and do the deliveries yourself

3.   For multiple deliveries, book a MAX Okada for the day at  8000
